This year Kalakshetra has the unique privilege of celebrating constitution day with a talk session by Hon’ble Justice Shri. D.Y. Chandrachud, Sitting Judge of the Supreme Court who has most kindly agreed to elucidate and give insights on the topic “ Visualising the Constitution through artistic prisms – stories of aspiration and emancipation”.
Each year, November 26th is celebrated to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and also celebrated as National Law Day. Hon’ble Justice Shri D.Y. Chandrachud will share his insights on the topic “ Visualising the Constitution through artistic prisms – Stories of aspiration and emancipation”. He will speak to the audience on artistic expression, across complexities of form, style, region and language – and its fundamental value to life and the law. He will analyze the constitutional commitments to free speech and artistic expression that are borne out of Indian, and a wider global history, of societal progress and democratic change. His address will highlight several examples of art being the propeller of progressive thought that has made the world better today, and emphasize the importance of the broadest tolerance to its expression.
This rare privilege is open to all and in particular to performing artists, art students and students of Law.
